Here's a Recipe: Apple Crumble

Happy Monday!!

If you guys have checked in with me on Instagram lately, you'll know I made an apple crumble the other day. For me this recipe is quite sentimental and nostalgic as it reminds me of when I lived in London. We used to a have an apple tree in the back garden and right about now, those apples would be huge and falling off. So my mum would pick some up, bring them to the kitchen and we'd make an apple crumble together.

This recipe is really easy but tastes delicious!

Ingredients:
For the crumble:
- 300g plain flour
- 175g brown sugar
- 200g unsalted butter, at room temperature
- knob of butter for greasing
For the filling:
- 450g apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1cm pieces
- 50g brown sugar
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- pinch of ground cinnamon

Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 180ºC
2. Place flour and sugar in large bowl and mix well. Taking a bit of butter at a time, rub into the flour mixture with fingers. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
3. Place the apple in a large bowl and sprinkle over the sugar, flour and cinnamon. Sitr well.
4. Butter a 24cm ovenproof dish. Spoon the fruit mixture into the bottom, then sprinkle the crumble on top.
5. Bake in the oven for 40-45min until the crumble is browned and the fruit mixture is bubbling.
6. Serve with thick cream or custard.
